The Big Cwtch Summer Party Access Guide

Welcome to The Big Cwtch Summer Party Charity Music & Food Festival. We are committed to equality and providing access for all at our events, and believe in empowering individuals to participate in all aspects of the festival programme.

We take accessibility and safety very seriously for ALL visitors, and hope that this guide provides you with the additional support you need to access our festival services and facilities and have a fantastic time.

For 2017 we are building on the services and accessibility provision we provide, this is an evolving programme which we intend to invest in and expand into the future. As part of this development we welcome your feedback. We also have a commitment to gaining accreditation via the Attitude is Everything initiative.

The Big Cwtch is a charity fundraising event raising funds for Ski4All Wales to empower and provide unique rehabilitation through innovative adaptive ski programmes.

We have no paid committee members, administrators or big budget funding to directly fund the event and all event work is done by volunteers. We are passionate about our community and the wellbeing, independence and inclusion of all. Therefore, we endeavor to promote good practice and address safety, accessibility, and disability inclusion concerns for all who attend any Big Cwtch events or interact with our charity.

Terrain

The Big Cwtch takes places over a number of fields, some of which are used for livestock throughout the rest of the year. Because of this the terrain can be bumpy / uneven and may be muddy. There are two main inclines on site – one being the street food alley which leads down to the Orchard stage, the other being the grassy area which leads to the main entrance / exit gate from the lakeside stage. Neither slope can really be avoided, though there are some routes where the incline is more gentle. There is very little concrete / tarmac on site.
If we have rain (we always hope not) the street food alley can get quite muddy, assistance is available from the stewards & site crew so please ask if you’re struggling.

Camping

Blue Badge Holders and carers will be allocated priority bays within the camper and caravan campsite. Please pre-book your space by emailing access@thebigcwtch.com or calling

There are no showers available on the campsite, please contact us if access to a shower is an essential access requirement

There are accessible toilets located in all toilet areas and close to each stage viewing area.

We also have a sterile toilet located on site and this is marked on your accessibility map.
