Here’s a taster of what you can look forward to at this year’s festival on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st August 2019.
The Big Cwtch is all about showcasing local and national talent, and you certainly can’t get much more talented than family-favourite, Organised Kaos Youth Circus, who are back this year to wow Cwtchers of all ages with more awe-inspiring fire shows and circus skill peformances. Their performances will definitely inspire your kids to learn some spectacular circus skills themselves, which they’ll no doubt want to show off to family and friends. They can do just this in Organised Kaos workshops held all day on Saturday, where they’ll be putting the ‘magic’ into the Magical Walled Garden.
If your little wildlings have a taste for nature, make sure to make the most of the stunning woodland location, and try some Bushcraft outdoor activities. Your kids will jump at the opportunity to master woodland skills such as foraging, learn about ancient survival methods and try their hand at a whole range of other crafts based in and on our natural environment (mobile phones won’t come in too handy for this unique activity!)
On the subject of the beautiful location, where better to enjoy the stunning lakeside festival sights than from the lake itself? Our super Paddle Boarding team will be back for the whole weekend so be sure to get the best seat (or paddle board) in the house! They’ll be running stand up paddle boarding taster sessions for all ages, and all levels of experience. A truly fantastic festival activity!
If you’re less into water and more into chasing your friends through the woods, Celtic Laser is definitely the activity for you. This great, high-energy team are back to take you and your kids on a laser tag adventure that is sure to be the highlight of summer!
An incredible host of activities that will keep your kids and all the family occupied for the entire weekend!
For those of you who are after a bit more relaxed creativity over the weekend, don’t worry. The Big Cwtch truly does have something for everyone. Be part of The Big Family Knit with Oriel Myrddin and help us create a giant knitted installation, hang out with Lloyd the Graffiti to create a truly immersive piece of live art, step into our cwtch crafts field to learn willow work, weaving, jewellery and candle making, pottery, felting, woodcraft, leather work, screen printing and so much more. Get ready to bling up those wellies and tents with bunting, tassels and pompom-making classes, and even recycle preloved bling by upcycling! Because you’re not really at a festival if you’re wearing an undecorated welly, right?
There really is so much to do, so keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks for an official timetable of activities, which is sure to be filled to the brim with the best summer activities that the Big Cwtch has to offer!
